The SSAM is a non-profit association committed to enhancing the self storage industry in Michigan. The majority of our members are family owned and operated businesses. Our focus is providing you with quality education, networking opportunities and the tools necessary for continued success.

The SSAM continues to represent the industry in Lansing and prepares to protect it from legislative threats.

Promote the concept of self storage while supporting a code of ethics that encourages good business practices and customer service. Monitor legislation and act as the industry’s voice to promote and improve your business arena.

The SSAM thanks you for supporting our industry. However, the SSAM is a not-for-profit trade association and does not mediate or resolve disputes between self storage operators and tenants. For issues with your facility or unit, please review your rental agreement and contact the individual named there. Alternatively, call, email, or visit the facility in person to address and resolve the concern. SSAM does not have the power, authority, or ability to remedy any disputes between an operator and a tenant.
